We were asked to re-design Renovatio’s logo with consideration to the modern, angular but minimalist style of their design. I chose this right angled separating line between the words RENO and VATIO to do two things. Firstly, it was interesting to play with the word RENO which is a well known French male name (although spelled differently) to give the company more character. Is the company owned by RENO? is he the head designer? It is more interesting than simply calling it a derivative of RENOVATION. Secondly, the separating lines describe what they do as interior layout designers.
The brochure and van images below are early application tests (not real) to try and foresee what the logo could like like in a real world context.
In this way we remove as much risk of the logo failing in practice as possible. The client was thrilled with the logo and to receive his stationery recently.
